In 1908, shortly after completing his apprenticeship at the age of 21 Karl Bickel founded his own studio for commercial art in Zurich, rapidly acquiring an outstanding reputation in the Zurich business world. His graphic talent was especially esteemed in the fashion industry, but Bickel also designed brand products, culture, tourism and other advertising vehicles.
